There was no training in the morning today so both of us slept like a pig. But I did not want to waste the hotel breakfast so I went down at 9.30am alone while Ryan continued sleeping. Afternoon we headed to the stadium at 3pm for track training. It started to rain but Coach Fairoz said "No problem..." (in that accent). When we reached it started pouring so we had to go into the shelter till the rain subside. When it finially did, we released tire pressures to 80PSI then headed to the track for 20mins warm up. Round and round we went, face getting splashed by the mud water sprayed by the bikes in front of us. By then our jerseys and bikes were all soaked and dirty. I decided to do VO2 intervals together with Ryan while the Melaka boys did their own pace training. We did 5 sets, on the 3rd set I managed to hit my highest peak power for 3mins by far. I was very happy. I guess the cornering on the track helped to keep my wattage high (had to accelerate through as Im cornering). After that, the boys did 3 sets of mini scratch race. I did not want to take any risk so I sat out for this one and watched them by the side. It was quite interesting though as they split up into 4 teams and played their tactics. Sean Khoo, otherwise known as Kona, showed that he was the strongest rider out there by winning all 3 sets!
For dinner we wanted to visit the Shack's cafe again but it did not open. So we decided to eat at an Indian stall across the road. We ordered lots of food and shared. Together we had 3 pieces of naan, tandoori chicken, mee goreng, roti john. Good carbo load for the race tomorrow! Heh.. After dinner we headed back to pack our stuff for the journey to KL tomorrow and had an early night's rest.
